Wales: some of the world’s best beaches

When you’re choosing where to head for a caravan holiday, the quality of beaches has to rank highly on your list of priorities.

Luckily, in Wales, we have some of the finest beaches not just in Britain, but in the world – and they have again been ranked highly in the latest Blue Flag awards.

Only the very highest quality tourist beaches can carry Blue Flag awards, which recognise quality of bathing water, the cleanliness of the beach, controlled access to the beach by dogs, an adequate number of lifeguards, the monitoring of marine and freshwater habitats and visitors’ services.

In Pembrokeshire, which is home to many of the closest beaches to our own Barkers Leisure caravan holiday and touring holiday parks, you can  now find 11 separate Blue Flag-awarded beaches.

It is also home to 12 additional beaches that won Green Coast awards. These awards are usually given to quieter, more unspoilt beaches – they focus on beach cleanliness and water quality, and less so on tourist amenities and visitor services.

We are still running our super-low prices offer for any holidays taken in June 2015, so head to our special offers page to find out more.
