Pilbach park - local attractions

Pilbach - local attractions

Enjoy a gentler pace of life, discover our beautiful beaches, great walks, unspoilt rivers, stunning wildlife and breathtaking scenery.

For those who enjoy the natural environment our lanes during spring are adorned with wild flowers such as Cowslips, Orchids and Primroses. The cliff paths of the Cardigan Heritage Coast and Pembrokeshire are also a riot of colour with the sea supporting a nationality renowned Grey Seal population, Porpoises and the only resident family of Bottle-Nose Dolphins in Wales or England.

For bird lovers the Red Kites are some 30 miles away with many other species to be seen on the cliffs and paths, as well as on our own park.

For those who enjoy a walk there are cliff paths, the banks of the river Teifi and the Preselis to name but a few, all a photographer's dream. The Preselis are also the hills from which the Blue Stones of Stonehenge originated.

Traveling south, the holiday resorts of Tenby, Saundersfoot, St. Davids and Fishguard can also be reached within the hour. Fishguard also has a car and passenger ferry to Rosslare.

Traveling north, the well known holiday and university town of Aberystwyth can also be reached within the hour, as can Tregaron, the gateway to the Cambrian Mountains. Once here you must visit Aberporth, a small village beautifully situated on Cardigan Bay and ideal for sailing. It is one of the nearest resorts to the park, and it's sandy beaches and safe bathing make it an ideal place for a holiday. Other nearby beaches are Penbryn, Tresaith, Llangranog, Mwnt and Newquay with it's picturesque harbour.

Cardigan is not too far away and is well worth a visit. Pleasantly situated on the river Teifi, it offers a wide choice of Shops & Restaurants. Higher up the river Teifi, some six miles from Pilbach, is Cenarth with it's magnificent waterfall. The Teifi is also famous for it's fishing, including Salmon and Trout, a popular pastime in this beautiful area.
